Root Beer Float on a Stick

OK it is actually a popsicle.  And so good!!!!!!  Super easy to throw together too.  I found this little recipe through a blog I follow and she was posting it from this blog.
(I don't pretend to come up with these great ideas on my own people!)

Here is what you will need:
1 12oz. root beer or 1 1/2 cups
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
3oz dixie cups
popsicle sticks
**I used all store brand.  Even the cups.  Kroger had plastic "bathroom" cups(just like Dixie cups)150 cups for 2.99**
Mix root beer and sweetened condensed milk together with a whisk. If it gets too foamy set it in the fridge for a few minutes to settle.......mine was fine.  Pour into 3oz cups.  I let the popsicles set up(about an hour) before I inserted the sticks.  After that it took a good 1 1/2-2 hours before they were ready.  The boys were foaming at the mouth!!!!

I am sure these will be made every other day in our house for the boys. And of course Brant and me will enjoy them too!  It is SUMMER and that means POPSICLES!!!!!

Corn!

This is our first year to plant corn.  We had no idea what it would do or what to expect.  So far so good.  Last week we discovered the little ears forming.  That had me thinking what I would do with them if we get a bunch of ears of CORN.  If nothing else I'll love saving the corn stalks for Fall!!

 Black bean and CORN salsa!
 Creamy Creole CORN!

 Grilled CORN!
 CORN Casserole!
Last and certainly not least and probably our favorite.....CORN on the cob!

Look at how tall those stalks are!!  The boys are taller than most.  We have neighbors from Indiana that told us the saying there for corn is, "Knee high by July".  Well we have gone beyond the knee so maybe we'll have some sweet CORN to eat soon.

Blogger Errors

Blogger errors continue for me........................

The post below, Putting it away for awhile, was NOT a blog post for today.  You may remember there were some problems with Blogger a few weeks ago. It was right around the time I made that post about putting Ryan's brace away for a while.   That post was taken completely away for a couple of days and then showed up.  At that time all the comments that went with that post were gone.  The comments are all back and that post is now showing I made it today......I did not!

Oh the beauty of the computer world.   Just didn't want anyone to be confused.

Thanks and you can now return to your regular scheduled program.

Putting it away for a while......

We are putting Ryan's brace away for a while.

Before I explain let me just say thank you for the sweet comments, emails, phone calls and texts concerning Ryan.  You have no idea how that gets me through the day knowing so many are thinking and praying for our little boy. Thank you!

Today's visit to Scottish Rite was not as I had hoped, but looking back I didn't have high expectations of the visit anyway.  Not to sound negative, but I have traveled this road before.  I have stood up for what I felt was best for my son and that is what today's visit was for me.

For almost six years(in July)I have been my child's advocate during his treatment for Infantile Scoliosis.  And a pretty darn strong one at that.  I made a special effort to find out everything I could about his condition.  I joined a support group and read every post just in hopes to learn more and more.  And I did!!!!  I made it my job to know every option out there to treat him.

But one thing I have learned through this all is that some doctors and other medical staff do not like a common, stay at home mom to know so much. Or to ask questions.  To know how to dig.  Or to question what they have decided to do for their child.

Well guess what?  I don't care!!!!!

I know Ryan better than any doctor will ever know him.  I know what makes him tick and makes him cry.  I know what he has gone through since July 2006 when he received his first cast. I know what he went through for 14 months of casting.  I know the struggles we have faced due to casting and bracing.  I know that for almost six years now my child has gone to bed with something attached to his body.  I know that it makes him sad.  I know it makes him feel different.  And I know it will one day make him a very strong man.  Boy, do I know that!

I also know I am thankful for the doctors who have helped Ryan.  And at this point after almost four years of bracing I know we are making the right decision.

We are going to put the brace away for a while and see what this strong little boy's spine will do.  Oh, God, protect it.  I pray it is in Your will that his little spine is strong enough to handle living without the brace for a while.

We have made this decision.  No doctor.  No orthotist.  No medical professional.  We the parents have made this decision.  The parents that know our son better than any human on this earth.

Is this the right decision?  Yes.  Right now it is what we feel is best for Ryan.  Only God truly knows what the outcome will be, but for now we are going with our gut.  And our gut is telling us to give him a break.

We told him this evening. He is excited because he hates his brace.  He also knows things could change. He is aware he will have an xray come August or September and that "could" change things.  He knows it and we will prepare him closer to that time IF the xray shows his curve is getting worse.

For now we do all I know to do........LIVE and PRAY!

Scrumptious Saturdays

Scrumptious:
scrumptious , definition of scrumptious , meaning of scrumptious - 1 ( adj ) delectable, delicious, luscious, pleasant-tasting, scrumptious, toothsome, yummy extremely pleasing to the sense of taste 1 ( adj ) scrumptious nice; particular; fastidious; excellent; fine Adj . 1 . scrumptious - extremely pleasing to the sense of tastedelectable, pleasant-tasting, yummy, toothsome, delicious, luscioustasty - pleasing to the sense of taste; "a tasty morsel"
scrumptiousadjective ( Informal ) delicious, delectable, inviting, magnificent, exquisite, luscious, succulent, mouthwatering, yummy ( slang ) , appetizing, moreish ( informal ) a scrumptious apple pie.

Well the meaning seems to relate to food.  And that is what I think of when I hear or say the word scrumptious.

Today my blog will begin "Scrumptious Saturdays".   Every Saturday I will post a recipe we have tried and feel is  "scrumptious"!  It could be a recipe we came across, one a friend or family member passed along or even a recipe we have adapted to our taste thus making it our own.

So without further ado my first scrumptious recipe.......this feels so exciting!!!  Can you feel it?!
Hope you enjoy!!!!

Cranberry Scones
Ingredients:
1-3/4c. flour
1/4c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4tsp. of salt
1c. dried cranberries
1c. heavy whipping cream( I have used half and half and was sorry I did!  Stick to the heavy whopping cream)
Preheat oven to 425.
Mix dry ingredients together. Stir in cranberries. Add cream, stirring just until soft dough forms. If too wet, add extra flour 1Tbsp. at a time. On floured surface, gently knead dough 5-6 times. Place on greased cookie sheet and pat into an 8" circle. Score into 8 wedges, gently separating. Sprinkle top with sugar. Bake 15-20 min. or until golden brown.

I will give credit where credit is due.  These amazing scones are a recipe passed on to me by my
SIL, Renee....check out her blog.
Sketches of Home   She and my nieces share a few sketches of their daily lives and interests.

I was very intimidated at first to make them, but after Renee walked me through the recipe I felt better about trying them.  They are super easy and I have throw them together on several Saturday mornings lately.  Today included!  I learned this morning that 20 minutes is too long for my oven....they are still good, but just a little browner than I prefer.  And it is best to sprinkle the sugar on before you put them in the oven.......not half way through baking.  And also it is best to remove your pizza stone from the oven before turning it on.

Anyway I hope you have a lazy morning and decide to make these.  You will not be sorry you tried!

What scrumptious recipe are you making on this Saturday.  Please share!

The Lake

Brant tried to fish.

Matthew played and didn't want to leave.

Ryan was cold, ready to leave and preferred to stay out of the water.

Me, I sat listening to the waves and feeling the very strong wind blow my hair.  I wanted so badly to close my eyes and go to sleep.  That is when I started dreaming of laying on a beach somewhere, taking a nap and not having to worry about anyone but me.  Oh there is something about being near water that calms my soul and makes me so relaxed.  Don't worry I didn't get too relaxed and never did close my eyes.  Well only when Brant was close by to watch the boys.

The wind was so strong today on the lake.  There were white caps on the water and the wind picked up even more after we were there for a while.  We have this secret little spot that rarely has another person around. We were all so excited to go today.  It is normally a favorite spot for us, but today was not the best day to go to the lake.

I got a little sun and was near a body of water.  That right there is enough to give me the fever and can not wait to go back!  The lake, the beach, a pool........water it does my body good.

Hope you are near water this weekend.  And enjoy!

**I also forgot my camera so all these were taken with my cellphone.  Sorry for the poor quality!**

Headed to the Lake

This is like when you make a call and the answering machine says no one is available to take your call.  Or when you send an email and get an email right back telling you that person is out of the office until such date.

Well we are headed to the lake for the day. No time to blog....FUN takes first priority here!
Will blog later!

If you don't check back for my exciting post let me just say have a wonderful weekend!!!  Get outside and do something FUN!!!  Happy Memorial Day weekend!!!!

Thankful Thursday-Learning Hospitality

We love to entertain.  After the boys were born we kinda got out of the habit of having people over.  But when we do I am always so happy we welcomed people into our home.

Oh sure it takes time, effort and planning, but being hospitable is a delight. I put it off, but I am learning to just step out and make myself do it. I usually spend most of the day getting things ready.  The boys have picked up on the routine of "the day" company is coming over.  They help clean up and put things away.  And surprisingly are pretty good about keeping the main part of our home in order. They are learning hospitality.
I have learned that it does not have to be over the top to be nice.  And lets face it...if you have little ones it needs to be simple and easy.  Even the little things count and the boys are learning this about hospitality.  If they see me taking the time to make things nice then I am planting a seed.  And hopefully one day when they are married they will enjoy entertaining like their Daddy.

Little things count:
-set a nice table
-use what you have on hand
-look outside
- serve something appealing

Set a nice table
Brant had a friend from highschool in town for work and came over last night for dinner.  I had a couple of days notice, but not a lot of FREE time to prepare.  But I knew I wanted it to look nice.  He has been here before so it had nothing to do with a first impression.  I just like to have things nice....that is just how I do things.  It was something my Mother taught me and my sisters.

So we figured out what we would serve and then the rest was up to me......making a table look nice.
It is actually my favorite part.  I sometimes use a tablecloth, but wanted something less formal looking.  Plus we have a beautiful wood table and I love being able to see the wood.

I decided to go with placemats.  An inexpensive way to dress up your table. You can get placemats as little as $2.50 each(maybe cheaper!).  They dressed up my table still allowing the wood to show.  And these I can change out as often as my mood changes.

Use what you have on hand
I already had white linen napkins on hand that I had bought years ago.  I love colored napkins, but you can't go wrong with white.  So fresh for Spring and Summer.

I love using jars I have on hand to help decorate.  Any size, any shape.  I had a ton of tealights so I put rice in these little jars and then put the tealight down in the rice. I think it turned out nice.   Just don't forget to light the candles!

Look outside
The flowers and greenery in a jar are all from our yard.  The Gerber Daisies looked amazing after all the rain we have had.  I hated to cut them, but all they are going to do is eventually die.  We had the privledge of  enjoying them at the table last night.  The greenery is from the tomato plants and a shrub out front.  I loved being able to look outside in our yard and find things that make a very simple, small arrangement for the table.  Nothing fancy and NO fuss!

Appealing food
I think serving something that looks pretty says a lot.
We served salad, skillet lasagna and bread.  Skillet lasagna is not as pretty as traditional lasagna so I made sure our salad was a special one.  But oh so easy!

2 different kinds of lettuce, red onion, blackberries, feta cheese and walnuts with poppyseed dressing.
Do not add the dressing until right before you are ready to serve.  Add desired amount and toss.
Isn't it pretty?

As the time drew closer for our guest to arrive the boys were anxious.  Matthew went around lighting all the flameless candles and turning on the lamps for an added ambiance.  He gets it!

I am so thankful today that the boys are truly learning hospitality.  I am thankful I can show them that the little things count.  I am thankful that I grew up learning how important it is.  And I am thankful I am still learning hospitality each time we have a guest in our home.

What are some of your hospitality secrets?  I loved for you to share.

Planning ahead for long days

This is only our first week out of school and I can tell already it is going to be a long summer!  The boys are so use to structure I can see I will have to set something in place during our off months. I was going to give us a break, but am now thinking twice about that.  Of course anything we do this summer will be much more relaxed and laid back.

Matthew must constantly be working with his hands.  From Friday to yesterday the amount of paper that was used makes me cringe.  Paper to cut, color and draw.  He must always be doing something. He must always be creating.
Meanwhile Ryan is content to play.  He is content to learn about life.

Thus comes the bribing.  Think what you will, but I need structure too.  And need these boys to do more than just play and fight. When they are bored the fighting begins.  Ryan is the ornery one.  And delights in getting on Matthew's nerves.  Then Matthew delights in hitting, kicking, pulling, screaming, destroying something Ryan has built, etc.  And sometimes Matthew will also get on Ryan's nerves.

So last night I propsed an idea to them.  I said that if they learn to read a set of books(very early readers)they will be rewarded.  Matthew jumped and started reading one of the books. Literally as soon as I said it. Ryan never looked up until I mentioned reward and then went back to looking at another book for fun.

We'll go today to get supplies to make a poster to show their progress.  My hope in all this is that Ryan will want to learn!  There are 12 books.  Matthew wanted to learn to read ALL of them TODAY!  That will not be happening.  Trying to teach two to read at the same time is enough to make me cry.  Especially when one is ready to breeze through all the books and the other just has not got it yet.

We will work on two books a day.  It may take ALL day long......off and on all day long.  I told them we are not in a hurry to do this.  We have all summer long.  And I know things will come up so this is not a set schedule, but more something to have in place when they are bored.

We'll also start a phonics computer program that I plan to have them do twice a week.  This will surely help with their learning reading the books.

So my s l o w, easy days are far and few between, but it might just be better this way.

Have any other ideas for FUN relaxed, learning during the summer months?  Send them my way.
Right now I am planning ahead for long days.

Two Minutes in the life.......

I have gone back and forth about posting this, but my gut keeps saying to put it out there.  It keeps saying to show others what is happening to our children.  What is happening after being vaccinated.  I have friends with children and learn often about others and what is happening to their children. There is much debate over this I know, but there is much they are not telling us.  I want to share an article about a little boy who suffers from Autism. His mother tells the story and you will learn what she has to deal with.

We stopped vaccinating the boys a while back.  I often wonder what harm we "could" have done. It makes me wonder if Matthew's inability to handle his feelings and anger are a result.
I just wonder.........
These are sometimes very disturbing fits that cause him much distress. You can see he has no ability to know how to handle his feelings.  It is nothing new.....these have been around since he was about 2 years old. Yes, I know you are saying that is completely normal for kids to throw a fit.  These are different and full of rage that a little boy should not have.
We don't make a big deal out of them and try our best to help him deal with it. I just wonder......
It saddens me to think that they were just days old and we allowed injections into their tiny little bodies.  Bodies that God so lovingly and graciously gave us.  Perfect little bodies created by our Heavenly Father.
We have never done any testing or evaluations to find out, but he does have problems dealing with certain situations.  Only God knows what is going on in his sweet little head.

I will warn you that there is some very strong language in this article.  If you know me and have followed my blog for any length of time, you know I do NOT talk this way, and I felt you could over look the bad words and try to understand what this mother goes through in two minutes with her autistic son.

Two minutes—just two minutes!—in a day with an autistic child. You'll forever be grateful for a simple temper tantrum.

After reading the article I am grateful that I can console Matthew and somehow calm him down when he is throwing a temper tantrum.
Click on the link below to read the article and again disregard the strong language.

Choo Choo Creamery

Yesterday our "ending school celebration" took a different turn.  We got a very late start, it started raining and Brant got off early.

The principal had a need to go to Bass Pro Shops and after telling the boys it is very much like Cabela's they were all set to go.

I had one surprise up my sleeve to share......Choo Choo Creamery.  ChooChoo Creamery is this cute little ice cream shop where the theme is trains.  Did you guess that already?

You order ice cream and as they make it it is loaded on a train up on top of the cooler.  When they are all done the kids or adults can push a button for the train to take your ice cream to the check out.

While they are making your order you can of course watch as they add the extras to the ice cream.  For the little ones there is a raised step so they can see.

See the little red button right at Ryan's shoulder(your right).  That is THE button.  The button that makes the train go and the one the boys were so anxious to push.

As we were looking over what to order I found the sizes.  Different, but cute I guess.
They have peewee, yummy, wow and awesome.
The boys got yummy and Brant and I got wow.  And WOW it was.  I'll be having the yummy from now on.

And just for kicks and because I am sure someone is wondering(like my mother).............
Ryan: chocolate ice cream with gummy worms
Matthew: cotton candy ice cream with gummy worms
Brant: cheesecake ice cream with graham crackers and fresh strawberries.
Me: chocolate ice cream with coconut and almonds.

After you get your order you can sit and watch more trains.  We sat for a few minutes and then made a run for the car since it had slacked up a bit.  The boys LOVED the Choo Choo Creamery and I am sure we will make more trips there this summer.

After finishing up our dessert we started on supper. It was a great day of FUN celebrating the end to our school days.

Healthy Banana Cookies

In my attempt to eat healthier and get rid of bananas I came across a great recipe.  I have since changed it up a bit to make it suit us......me and Brant. The boys were not crazy about these.
First off I must tell you these are not super sweet, but they are pretty darn healthy and just the right amount of sweetness for me.  I am trying to change my thinking and taste for more natural sweetness. Now don't think I have gone too crazy and would not eat a big fat chocolate chip cookie.  Of course I would!  BUT I am trying to change my habits.  These are a good start.  And if I need a little more sweetness I'll just put a spoonful of Nutella on top((wink-wink)).

Hope you will give them a try.  And I hope you enjoy the healthiness.

Healthy Banana Cookies

Ingredients:
3 ripe bananas
2 cups rolled oats
1/4 cup raw sugar
1 cup dates, pitted and chopped
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas. Stir in oats, sugar, dates, oil, and vanilla. Mix well, and allow to sit for 15 minutes. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  3. Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until lightly brown.

A rainbow of colors

We are officially done with school!!!  Kindergarten is over!  We finished up yesterday.  Today we will celebrate with a little party.....just the teacher and her students.

Then this evening we will have a pizza party and celebrate with the principal.

This week we have been learning about the letter Y and the color yellow along with other colors.
The boys enjoyed making different colors using primary colors. We used water and food coloring to make green, orange and purple.  Green and orange were their favorites!

Yesterday we went outside and found all but one of the colors of the rainbow in nature.
Blue was the hardest to find.  It was a cloudy, gloomy looking day so not even the sky was blue.  So the picture of the blue flower is from nature, but not one we actually saw.  Makes me realize I need to add some blue to our yard.

The theme for the week was...
Thank you, God, for this beautiful world.

Colors of the rainbow: purple, blue, green, yellow, orange and red

It is amazing the colors God has given us.  We talked about how if everything in our world was in black and white.  I showed them pictures of just plain black and white items, nature, people, etc.
We talked about how God could have made a world without so many beautiful colors.
But He wanted us to enjoy the beauty of His creation.

After our outside activity we worked on a rainbow. This rainbow had to have a pot at the end, but not just any pot. And not a pot of gold.  The pot at the end of our rainbow is a pot of FUN!  And it is full of ideas the boys have for summer!

So let the summer FUN begin!!!!!!  Not sure what we will do first, but I am sure we will keep busy.

Hope you all have a great weekend.  Get outside and do something FUN!

Every night

I have shared this before on my blog a while back, but since then it has grown.  And it is Ryan now asking most of the questions.

Every night after I have kissed the boys goodnight and tucked them in the stall tactics begin.
And it goes something like this......

Me: Goodnight Ryan, I love you.
Ryan: Goodnight momma, I love you too.
Ryan: Momma, any storms tonight?
Me: No.
Ryan: What if there is?
Me: I'll come get you.
Ryan: Any fireworks?
Me: No.
Ryan: Can I sleep with you?
Me: No, there is not enough room.
Ryan: Can you sleep with me?
Me: No.
Ryan: Can I stay up late?
Me: No.
Ryan: Can I watch TV?
Me: No.
Ryan: How many hours until morning?
Me:(depending on when they go to bed)10 hours.
Ryan: I have bad dreams.
Me: You'll be fine....you always are....go to sleep.
Ryan: Goodnight I love you.

On to the next room.......

Me: Goodnight Matthew, I love you.
Matthew: Goodnight I love you.
Matthew: Are there going to be any storms?
Me: No.
Matthew: Fireworks?
Me: No.
Matthew: Goodnight I love you.

I stand in the hallway by both rooms and tell them goodnight again.  I walk away and feel so beat down because of what I just went through again.  I am exhausted.......I go through this every single night! I am complaining inside and they feel happy and safe.  They are ready to go to sleep.
It took me all of about 3 minutes or less to make them feel happy and safe before going to sleep.

Why am I complaining? This soon will past.  This season will be over before I know it.  They will no longer be my babies.

The other day I made a comment that I can't wait until they are tall enough to reach the garage door opener.  I said this as we were all walking in and I was carrying my purse, 2 bags, my water cup and other miscellaneous stuff from the car and trying to reach the garage door opener.  I quickly changed my mind and said no I don't want you to be that tall.  They ask why.  I told them that meant they would be older and then they wouldn't be my babies anymore.

Ryan says, "Yes we will Momma.  I am never leaving you.  I am going to live here forever and never get married."

Talk about my heart melting.

Although I know that is not true I would love nothing more then to have them here forever.

Tucking them in bed and answering every last question every night.

Ladybugs and Melons!!!

Ladybugs are just so CUTE(that IS the best word to describe them!!)! I love their colors.  And they do vary in color.  But my favorite is the red and black ladybug. Those colors always seem to remind me of ladybugs. Add a little white and you have the makings for a precious little girl outfit. Too bad I have boys and am way too old to be wearing a ladybug print......well maybe not.

For a few years now I have wanted ladybugs in our gardens. I have thought about ordering some to release in the gardens, but just never get around to it.  Ladybugs are beneficial for controlling pests in a garden.  They are the most popular and widely used beneficial insects for commercial and home use. They can consume up to 50 to 60 aphids per day but will also eat a variety of other insects and larvae including scales, mealy bugs, leaf hoppers, mites, and various types of soft-bodied insects.

So when I found ladybugs in our garden yesterday I was SO excited!!!!  They are all over the place, but love the tomato plants best.  I know it sounds silly, but it makes me happy to see them out there. They found our gardens!!!! Some cultures believe this a sign of good luck.  To bad I don't believe in good and bad luck.

While searching for ladybugs I came across some little melons growing.  Who doesn't love a red, ripe piece of melon.  We all know Ryan does......this photo is from last Summer.

Anyway I was excited to see these melons already growing in the gardens.  We all look forward to enjoying some garden fresh melons.  Last year they were personal size melons.  They seem to be growing faster this year so maybe we will have some bigger ones this summer.

Speaking of ladybugs and melons.......I just thought I was too old to wear a ladybug print, but that is just not so.  Check out these PJs.  I saw these last week and I had to have them!
FYI-I have a confession............

I have a weakness for FUN PJs!!! OK that is wrong....for PJs in general!  I just LOVE them all!!!!!
But go nuts for prints that are FUN!

And these are FUN! Are these not the cutest PJs you have ever seen?!  Oh wait I have nine other pair, but I still think these might be the cutest!  Plus these scream SUMMER!!!!!  And are probably my favorite right now!

I can't wait to sit in the gardens with my PJs on around all the ladybugs and melons!

Count Down Time!!!!

Today starts our last week of Kindergarten!!!! WooHoo!!!!  I can not believe the fun we have had, the lessons we have learned and the challenges we have faced!

It has opened my eyes to so much.  So much about the boys and the big differences in the two of them.....in their learning and in their personalities.  It has opened my eyes to why I want to homeschool, to why I feel blessed every single day I am here with them doing school.  It has opened my eyes to why I thank God each time I see a light bulb go off in their heads.   And it has opened my eyes to see that God had this all planned out a very long time ago.  My eyes are wide open!

We all three look forward to this week being over!
We can't wait to sleep in.....even if sleeping in is 6:30!  We look forward to lazy days of not getting up and being hurried to eat breakfast....I know the boys are SO ready for that. I look forward to hanging out around the house all day without a time schedule. The boys look forward to being able to stay up a little later each night.  BTW we are already up to 9PM and if you know me you know that when 10:00PM comes my body starts going into sleep mode. Should be an interesting summer.
Just so many things that will change for a little while so we can have a break.

It has gone by fast and I can not even believe I will soon be thinking about 1st grade curriculum!
For now I will enjoy my kindergarten boys and count down this week.

**I thought I would share their pictures again from that first day.**

Sniff-Sniff......Kindergarten is almost over.

Fish-Part Two

Saturday was spent getting new rods and trying to get a bite.  Brant and the boys were down the road from our house fishing.  I decided I would take a ride and find them on the trail.  When I got there they had just made it to their spot.  The pictures above were right after Brant helped them cast. They went from sitting to standing and back and forth again. They were not ready to just be still and wait.  After not getting a bite for a while you can imagine how bored they were.  They quickly gave in and decided they would play around with tadpoles. Fishing was over for them.  I had a free pole so I grabbed one and caught two in row. The boys and me headed home and let Brant do some real fishing.

Fast forward to Sunday.............................

Matthew caught 2 and Ryan caught 5!

The boys also caught the real fish fever!
