Chocolate Bird's Nests

Is that not the sweetest little nest you have ever seen?!  It truly is sweet.....chocolate sweetness.

These are perfect for Easter.  Or if you are having a lesson on birds like we are this week.

I can't get over how God orchestrated it all to work out close to Easter and right around SPRING when birds are out everywhere!!!

These are so easy.  And your sweet littles will have fun helping.  And even the not so sweet or not so little too.

You will need:
•1 cup shredded coconut

•shredded wheat (six large "loaves")

•2 cups chocolate chips

•cooking spray

Start by breaking up the loaves of shredded wheat.  Add coconut and mix well.  Melt chocolate chips and add to the shredded wheat and coconut.  Mix well.
Spray hands with non-stick cooking spray and shape the mixture into muffin tin cups forming a "nest".  We found using something round and smooth helps make the bottom of the nest.  Make sure you spray it too.  We used a tablespoon.
I ended up with 14 nests.
Place in freezer about 30 minutes.  This helps the "nest" hold a tight form.

Place jelly beans or Robin eggs (Whoppers mini eggs) in nest.

These would be a cute addition to the Easter table.  Or dessert tray.  Hope you'll make some today.

Now we are off to find real bird's nests.  And oh how I long to find a real Robin's nest with BLUE eggs.  Happy hUMp day y'all.

**All that leftover Shredded Wheat makes a great add-in to my No Fail Granola Bars .  I used three loaves and left out the coconut. **
