5 O'Clock Club-Update as 1-1-2011

I have to be honest.......I did not set my alarm and did not get up until 6AM.  Awful, I know!  Just kidding...just kidding that it is awful.  I am happy I woke up on my own this morning and not by an alarm.  Monday school starts back up and the alarm will have to be set.
Anyway I did get up at 6:00, started coffee and had my time with the Lord.
I read from Hebrews 6: 13-20.  It was going along with a little devotional book I get in the mail.
Today's devotion was all about hope. Hope: the anchor of the soul. As believers we have a hope that anchors our soul.  I am holding tight to that anchor this morning.
The writer of Hebrews used the word(anchor)to remind believers that God has given a hope that holds firm in any storm.
I pray you are finding hope in God in this New Year.

Do you want to join? It is not my club, but one I found on a blog I follow.
I joined the 5 O'Clock Club a year ago and am so happy I did!
The 5 O'Clock Club is for those who want to get up early(and no it does not mean you have to get up at 5AM!)to spend some time alone with God.  Starting my day out spending that time with God and in his word makes my day go so much more smoothly.  I started this last year because Matthew was waking up early and usually before or during my time with God.  I needed that time to praise him, thank him and study his word.  Once I "joined the club" my body adjusted to the time(not that it needed much adjusting.....I am a morning person)and I have been doing it since.  Well, almost.  I slack from time to time and allow myself to sleep in, but what better time to start it back up firmly than the New Year.
I remember when I joined.........I set my alarm and got out of bed at 5AM.  I was determined to do it.  And that first day was pretty easy.  The coffee pot was ready to brew(I had prepared it all the night before), my bible was on the coffee table with pen and paper and I was set to spend some time with my Heavenly Father.  And even the next few days were not that bad either.  It was that Friday through the weekend that seemed harder.  BUT I am here to tell you I stuck with it!  And I am determined to get back on track in the New Year.
I hope you will join me.  Please leave a comment or send me an email to let me know if you do.
Just remember every new habit takes about two weeks to really get into the habit of it.
5 O'Clock Club anyone???
