"All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty." Proverbs 14:23
When is the last time you did some hard work?
Maybe you cleaned your home from early morn until mid afternoon(I would not have a clue about that). Or maybe you were landscaping your front yard. Maybe painting several rooms in your house.
Whatever it might be I am talking about hard work. Sweat dripping down your brow(or back) kinda hard work.
I did some yesterday. And the sweat was dripping alright. All kinds of places!
I got up early to work in the gardens. And woke the boys up early to help. Yep, woke them up, made sure they had their coffee-milk and put them to work.
It was good for them. And me!
I never realize how good it is to work hard until I am forced to do it. And usually pretty happy I did! The boys surprisingly held on with me for a while. I started with this....................
The boys took any and all fruits or veggies that might be left in the gardens. They pulled some vines, but I did most of the pulling up of plants. As I pulled they would help me by taking everything to the compost bins.
The tomato plants were the hardest. These things got SO big and grew all kinds of different directions.
I had to do this job alone, but once I got them out the boys carried these
We worked hard and as long as we could. The picture above shows how the sun is making its way to our work space. Thankfully we were just about done.
All we have left to do is get all the weeds out of each beds and turn the soil. Since we will put the house on the market soon we decided against a Fall garden.
We have put a lot of hard work and sweat into these gardens over the years. My only hope and prayer is that the family that buys our home is longing to have a garden!
And willing to work hard.

My gloves looked just about like yours this morning! We tackled the WEEDS in our garden. All this lovely rain and the mild temperature has produced a bumper crop of them. My back feels like it might break, but yet at the same time it feels good to work hard and sweat. I am glad to know I am not alone... Best of wishes on your move. I hope you find just the perfect place ♥
YOu're right - it may be hard to motivate yourself to do 'hard work' but you feel so good afterwards!!
Great job on those garden beds!

I'm still waiting for the fruit of my little garden to be ready here in Oregon. I had an infestation of aphids and ended up yanking out my peppers. I'm down to tomatoes and an eggplant now. My tomatoes are the size of trees too! I think they are easily 5 feet tall! I can't wait for fresh ripe tomatoes! Mmmmm!
