Better late than never...right? It was a busy week and I knew I would be making something scrumptious this weekend, but had not made my mind up yet.
Well I think this one will make up for me being so late with my post.
It is ridiculously easy and only requires 3 ingredients.
-Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream
-heavy whipping cream
-Butterfinger candy bars(this amount is up to you. I bought a bag of the FUN size bars)
If you live where you can not get Blue Bell ice cream I am truly sorry......you are missing out. But I am sure you can find another brand that is good.
Now here is what you do...............take ice cream out of freezer to get really soft. Place all the Butterfinger candy bars in a large baggie. Start crushing! I had big and totally crushed pieces. Again, this part is up to you. Crush however you like! Set aside. And then lick the inside of the baggie....there is still some good stuff left in there.
Now its time to make homemade whipped cream. I suppose you could use Cool Whip, but why? Homemade is so easy. Come on, give it a try.
Homemade Whipped Cream:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Whip the cream with a mixer. I do mine on the highest setting. Be careful not to overbeat or you will have butter. When it begins to thicken, add sugar and vanilla; stir.
Now you are ready to add the homemade whipped cream and crushed butterfingers to the already softened ice cream. Stir and mix really well.
I had planned to just add this back into the ice cream carton. But it would not all fit so I was forced to do something with the extra.
We all four agreed we will need another bowl to see if we really like it.
Now it all fit right back into the container it came in. With added goodness and extra special love!
This is nothing fancy, but it sure hits the spot on the days where our temps are 100 and above. And besides all that it is SCRUMPTIOUS!!!!!!!
