Praise God!!!!

Praise GOD!!!!!!!!!
We had a very good visit at Scottish Rite today and with GOOD news!!
For some reading this it may not seem like good news because there were not major changes. But if you follow my blog and learn about Infantile Scoliosis you will soon find out NO change is fantastic!
Because there is no science to measuring scoliosis it is hard to say what happened. In case you do not know there is always a 5-7 degree of variance to any measurement. And 2 different doctors could measure the same exact curve on an xray and come up with two TOTALLY different measurements.
All that being said........all we know is that the xray from 6 months ago compared to today's xray there is improvement!!
His doctor was clear on what could have happened.....remember there is no science to this....he thought the previous xray could have been bad positioning. Or Ryan did in fact improve. Or the whole variance thing.
Who knows? Better yet who cares?! His doctor thought Ryan looked great and the xray does in fact show some improvement. That is what matters.  It took me years to be able to say that and mean it, but numbers mean nothing.  You look at the xray and the overall body.
He made it clear for me to ease up on this little boy and let him be a kid! He only said this because he knows how strict I am about brace time.
I love that most about our visit today. I saw a different doctor and am very pleased. He is looking at Ryan(as a FIVE year old BOY!)and caring about what this child needs. To be a kid.
We will proceed with the same plan we have been doing. 16 hours a day in the brace. Most of that time while he sleeps and the remainder 4-6 hours during the day.
And if Ryan wants his brace off we will be a little more easy going about taking it off. We are NOT ready to go cold turkey on the brace. Like his doctor said today, "Y'all have worked too hard while casting and bracing to take steps backwards".
So for now we continue down this road on our journey with Infantile Scoliosis.  We have a good game plan in place and nothing is changing for Ryan.   That is HUGE!!!
Praise be to God!!!!!!!
