Come October I love all things pumpkin! One of them being Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Lattes.
I rarely go to Starbucks, but had a gift card and knew just what I wanted to use it for.
PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE! It was so yummy and I immediately wanted more. But for this frugal gal I just can't see spending the money on a drink! Especially when I can make one myself.
That's right I made my own Pumpkin Spice Latte. And it was so good!
Today was a cool day and I needed my afternoon jolt so I thought I would give this recipe a try.
Although I did not have exactly what the recipe called for it is a keeper and I will be making it again!
If you like pumpkin give it a try.
Notes: -I used 2% milk and do feel the whole milk would make a big difference.
-We thought it needed much more than 4 teaspoons of sugar.
-We did not have the whipped topping, but it was still YUM! Homemade whipped topping of course. It will make it SO much better.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
3 cups hot whole milk
4 teaspoons white sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
6 ounces double-strength brewed coffee
3 tablespoons sweetened whipped cream
3 pinches pumpkin pie spice
Directions
1.Combine the hot milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice in a blender; blend until frothy. Pour the mixture into 3 coffee mugs to about 2/3 full(I thought this was too much. Next time I 'll do half milk mixture-half coffee). Pour 2 ounces coffee into each mug. Garnish each mug with whipped topping and pumpkin pie spice.
Happy Pumpkin Month!
