Little bits of happiness

Miniature Narcissus

Little bits of happiness are all around us daily, but if our eyes are not open we will miss it.
My little bits of happiness are simple flowers and plants today.  They make me smile.  And who doesn't feel better when you smile. Happiness does not have to be something big.....at least not for me.

Hyacinth

I decided to try some different flowers this year.  Some in pots and some in the ground.  I have no idea what they will do, but for the time being they are making me happy.

Gerber Daisies

And who doesn't love a surprise!!  Our front porch gets no sun at all.  Every year I am in serach of  a flower or plant that requires full shade.  I went to Home Depot looking for something last week and found absolutely nothing.  So I figured I would make a trip to a local nursery to find a special shade plant.

No need for that special trip.  While transplanting, moving pots around and planting some flowers last week I discovered a wonderful surprise.  My hosta made it through the winter and is coming back!!!!

Good things come to those who wait!

Look at all that growth!!!  By the end of the week my porch will have some GREEN!!  Little bits of happiness are all around you!!

What happiness have you found today?

I just LOVE Gerbera Daisies. They are beautiful! I planted some primroses in my outside pots last month, but with the snow and now this terrible deluge of rain we are having the poor things don't look to "happy". Spring will come! I just have to be patient a little longer:)

I think Gerber Daisies and Pansies may be the happiest little flowers! I love them both...they just LOOK happy!
I was pleasantly surprised to discover that some of my Daisies in the bed around my mailbox had made it through Winter and are shooting up! So very glad that Spring is here!

Oh, and about the Hosta, you can usually cover them with pine straw and they will come back with no problem. I have them all along my front porch, and at least here in South Alabama, they do come back each year. Just get ready to divide them into some other pots, as they do multiply over time.
