Well the meaning seems to relate to food.  And that is what I think of when I hear or say the word scrumptious.

Today my blog will begin "Scrumptious Saturdays".   Every Saturday I will post a recipe we have tried and feel is  "scrumptious"!  It could be a recipe we came across, one a friend or family member passed along or even a recipe we have adapted to our taste thus making it our own.

So without further ado my first scrumptious recipe.......this feels so exciting!!!  Can you feel it?!
Hope you enjoy!!!!

Cranberry Scones
Ingredients:
1-3/4c. flour
1/4c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4tsp. of salt
1c. dried cranberries
1c. heavy whipping cream( I have used half and half and was sorry I did!  Stick to the heavy whopping cream)
Preheat oven to 425.
Mix dry ingredients together. Stir in cranberries. Add cream, stirring just until soft dough forms. If too wet, add extra flour 1Tbsp. at a time. On floured surface, gently knead dough 5-6 times. Place on greased cookie sheet and pat into an 8" circle. Score into 8 wedges, gently separating. Sprinkle top with sugar. Bake 15-20 min. or until golden brown.

I will give credit where credit is due.  These amazing scones are a recipe passed on to me by my
SIL, Renee....check out her blog.
Sketches of Home   She and my nieces share a few sketches of their daily lives and interests.

I was very intimidated at first to make them, but after Renee walked me through the recipe I felt better about trying them.  They are super easy and I have throw them together on several Saturday mornings lately.  Today included!  I learned this morning that 20 minutes is too long for my oven....they are still good, but just a little browner than I prefer.  And it is best to sprinkle the sugar on before you put them in the oven.......not half way through baking.  And also it is best to remove your pizza stone from the oven before turning it on.

Anyway I hope you have a lazy morning and decide to make these.  You will not be sorry you tried!

What scrumptious recipe are you making on this Saturday.  Please share!
