5 O'Clock Club-2013

Do you want to join? It is not my club, but one I found on a blog I follow.
I joined the 5 O'Clock Club a couple of years ago.  And although I get off track from time to time the new year is a great time to start it back up.
The 5 O'Clock Club is for those who want to get up early to spend some time alone with God.  And you do not have to get up at 5am.  Your club time could be 6 or 7am.

All I know is starting my day out spending that time with God and in his word makes my day go so much more smoothly. It gives me that time I need to read my Bible, do a short devotion and then catch up on some reading.

I started the "club" because Matthew was waking up early and usually before or during my cherished time alone with God.

I don't know about you, but I need that time to praise him, thank him and study his word. Once I "joined the club" my body adjusted to the time(not that it needed much adjusting.....I am a morning person)and I have been doing it since. Well, almost. I slack from time to time, like I said and allow myself to sleep in.  But at the beginning of the new year I try my best to get back into the routine.

I didn't make it up at 5 this morning so tomorrow is my start date. So who is in???? Go ahead get the coffee pot ready tonight and join me.

Please leave a comment or send me an email to let me know if you do.
Just remember every new habit takes about two weeks to really set in and feel normal.

5 O'Clock Club anyone???

I love this! What a great reminder for the start of a new year. I have not been good about being consistent with my quiet times lately and feel so much better when I start my day in the word! I want to commit to this with you. Thanks for sharing, Tasha!

Well,I normally get up at 5:30,but I think thirty extra minutes will be beneficial,so I will join you(I think you get up even earlier though which I will not do:)!

Do you have a set study you are doing? I would like to get started but probably will need something concrete to complete/read/a plan to keep me on track.

I am so excited you are going to join the "club"!! I don't have a set plan in place for club time. I am reading a devotion book daily and then reading the book Eyes Wide Open. A plan would be a great idea. Maybe a book for all to read, follow along with and questions to answer regarding each chapter in the book. Now there is a thought!
