Dreaming of a BEACH Day!

Oh I am so ready for the beach!! And so are the boys!!!

Matthew on the left is styling with his 80s retro shades.  No expression needed when you know you are this cool.  On the right we have the ever popular, always styling Ryan who knows how to strike a pose that says, "I know I am cool and the shades make me cooler".

These boys crack me up! Matthew's shades are an 80s comeback for sure.  Black front with blue on one side and orange on the other.  Ryan's are silver with flames across the lenses.  The coolness factor is spot on!

We are now living close enough to the beach to take a short drive and spend the day there.  Brant and I grew up on Texas and Louisiana beaches.  Spending days, weekends and sometimes weeks at the beach.  Gulf Coast beaches are all we know. Well except for our honeymoon trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico where the sands are much whiter. Oh and a few trips to Florida.  But to spend a day at the beach I'll take the darker sand (and seaweed).

If you have been following my blog for a while or you are a family member or friend you know all too well my cRaZy love for the beach!!  Actually being near water and in the sun would work too.

But today I am talking about the BEACH! There is just something about the beach that takes me away.  While I am there the waves, the wind and the salt air allow me to escape to a place where my whole body can relax and feel free.  Time is different there.  It moves with the waves.  The sun and waves count the minutes.  I am just there to watch and take it all in.

Summer 2009-the boys' first and only time so far at the beach.

As I sit dreaming of a beach trip we are planning (very soon!) and praying the weather is nice I also think of some requirements.  We'll call it Beach Rules.

Beach Rules:
1. Upon arrival plant feet firmly in the sand and breathe in the salty air.
2. Feel the breeze on your face and in your hair.
3. Soak up the sun and feel the warm goodness on your nose. (ALWAYS wear sunscreen!)
4. Build sandcastles and or bury yourself or feet in the sand.
5. Ride the waves until your swimsuit bottom is full of sand.
6. Collect seashells and other treasures.
7. (a) Rest.
    (b) Relax.
    (c) Reflect.
8. Bare feet always required!

Five year old toes-CUTE!
What are dreaming about today?
