FUN Friday-Mac and Cheese Pizza!

Happy Friday!!!!  It is a strange day here in SE Texas.  May 3rd and it is COLD outside.  And the wind is blowing like crazy!  Record lows for us, but I am OK with it.  It will be perfect for opening the windows in the kitchen this evening as I get our pizza night going.

So who's ready for the weekend?  What about pizza night?!

Last weekend we were watching Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.  Guy was trying a hamburger with mac-n-cheese.  Doesn't sound that great to me, but it did sparked an idea I can't believe we have never tried at home!!!!!

Macaroni and Cheese Pizza!

So tonight for the boys' pizza I am trying this "might sound gross to you" topping of macaroni and cheese. You can bet I will be giving it a try too!  I have had mac-n-cheese pizza before at CiCi's Pizza a couple of years ago.  And although I am not a fan of CiCi's pizza it was surprisingly pretty good.  Don't knock it till you try it I say.

Basically I am making the same pizza crust I always do.  Then I'll prepare homemade mac-n-cheese....an easier version.  I'll blind bake (usually about 8 minutes) the pizza dough and then add a generous layer of mac-n-cheese and more cheese.  Back in the oven to bake until lightly golden brown.  Boy oh boy does it sound good!

Do you think outside the box on pizza toppings?  Or do you stick to the same old, week after week, dull, boring toppings?  Have FUN with your pizza night!  Try something new.  Maybe serve a salad along with it or make garlic cheese bread-pizza.  So easy-pizza crust, brushed with melted butter and a ton of garlic, topped with cheese.  And a marinara for dipping.  So good!

So tune in tomorrow to see if this pizza is a winner with the boys.  I'll post it to Scrumptious Saturdays if the recipe gets a vote YES!  If not I'll try to share something else.

Hope you all have a great Friday! Now get OUTSIDE and have some FUN!!
