First Day of School-September 2013

And so it begins........another year of learning and growing.  It actually began on Monday and so far so good.

I feel so blessed to be teaching these boys.  I am truly blessed to have them all day long for every subject.  And then some!!!  So without further ado here are my two students for 2013-2014 school year.

First up is Ryan!  His reading has improved some over the summer and I actually heard the words from his mouth, "I think writing is a little fun".  But Legos still remain #1.

Next is Matthew.  He is obsessed with learning a foreign language right now (specifically Kenyan) so I have no idea what he is saying most of the time.  His usual drawings and crafts are out of control---think Egypt, pyramids and Chinese Lanterns.

And put the two together and this is what you get.  Yep, pretty much the entire day.  Except Matthew is carrying around a map of Egypt.

Our day started before the sun came up so it was a slow start.  But soon the monkey bread kicked in and the sun came up.  After that things started moving FAST!

The boys had fun doing a "first day of third grade" interview.
As well as enjoying a few first day gifts.
Remember erasable pens?  They are a big hit with the boys.

And since we will be traveling around the world this year Passport Applications were in order.

Reading is the last subject of the day.  So reading with an afternoon treat really makes for a FUN ending to school.  S'more Krispie Treats-recipe tomorrow.

I am loving the slow start to the curriculums.  These curriculum makers really are smart in how they plan the first couple of weeks to have a slower start and progressively get faster/harder.

It has been nice to slowly get back into the swing of things.

How is your school year going?
