It was cloudy on this late afternoon when we took our walk. Late enough for Daddy to join us. The boys were beyond excited! A short walk from our home and we enter a secluded area that offers beauty even on this cloudy day with little bits of light drizzle.
It was perfect!
Nature walks are great on sunny days. But going for a walk on a cloudy or even rainy day, allows you to see things differently. And I wanted the boys to see things differently.
These swamps are all around us and we see them all the time. But one has to stop and literally open their eyes to see the beauty. Turtles, frogs and crocodiles see it daily---it is their home. As well as birds and many little creeping crawling things. And a fine home indeed it is. These scenes give me peace. They truly call to me. And I could just sit down right here and daydream for hours.
Colors popped against the grayish sky as I looked for the beauty God gives us during these long, cold, wet winter months.
I love the bright red berries on the Yaupon tree in the dead of winter. Colors God gave us.
We even found gardens we had never seen before! Walking through these manicured gardens shows me the skill and beauty God has given men and or women who spend time to care for all of these amazing plants, shrubs, trees, flowers and so much more!!!
Our area had many days of rain so little creeks and streams were full of tadpoles! And the rain seems to bring the frogs out too. Lots of croaking going on during our walk. This was a perfect spot for little boys to get a closer look. There are not many little boys who do not desire to get their
It was a delight to take a walk on this cloudy day and see nature in a different way.

Cloudy and rainy days are some of our favorite walks! I have never liked swamps(snakes and alligators), but I have to admit even a swamp has much beauty to offer!
